Pink "Speak Louder" Crewneck

Deep in conversation last night, I said to Andrew "How can people NOT see the problem? How can people think it's RIGHT?" referring to the fact that George Floyd was killed unjustly by a white police office even after he pleaded for air and that the officers involved are not being brought to justice as they should.

It's something I almost can't wrap my brain around. It's 2020. How are we still living in a time where my peers of different races don't feel safe, comfortable, appreciated, HEARD, related to? How is it that WE'VE blindly made them feel this way?

It's deeply saddening a self-employed small business owner to think that my peers with different skin tones than mine may not be able to be as successful or given the same opportunities as me because I'm white and they're not. What the FUCK does skin tone have to do with that?

At the end of the day, I can't sit around and let this happen. WE can't sit around and let this happen. To me, fashion is my way of helping. It's what I know how to do best to get a message across. We should ALL be spreading the word like WILDFIRE around the entire WORLD that there is a PROBLEM in this country, we're aware of it, and we're taking the steps to CHANGE it. Nothing will CHANGE if we don't start to take care of that change OURSELVES.

With that being said, in June 100% of the profits from the "Speak Louder" crewneck were donated to Black Visions Collective, an organization that is working HARD to change the way our country (and the world) views POC. I did a lot of research into places to donate, and to me, BVC speaks the LOUDEST. We raised almost $3,000 and donated it straight to BVC.

I first saw the phrase "Speak Louder" on an Instagram post from my friend Shelby and thought that it couldn't be more perfect. We should ALL speak louder for our peers whether they're a different race, have a different sexual preference, are part of the transgender community, EVERYONE. WE as HUMANS — the HUMAN RACE — should all be treated the same no matter what our skin tone, sexual preference, body parts, views on social issues, income class. None of that matters.

Wear your "Speak Louder" crewneck and use it as an opportunity to spread the word without even having to speak, but when you do get compliments or comments about it, USE THAT to spread knowledge and educate. It's the least we can do.
